Hands down, the most popular members of our team at Nosara Blue are our five lovable Canine Ambassadors, who are always there to give our guests a ‘paw-sitively’ warm welcome.
ABOUT THE DOGS
In 2020, we brought our first dog, Bruno, from San Francisco to Nosara Blue. A few months later, we met a woman with a litter of puppies that was heading back home and needed someone to foster the litter. After all of the puppies were adopted, it broke our hearts to give the last two away, so we decided to add Tico and Dora to the pack. About a year later, after being severely neglected by her owners Sarah, a well-known Pelada street dog, joined the group. And most recently, Canelo, a sweet, gentle dog that his owners abandoned, followed us home from the beach one day and is the latest addition to the pack. He's still learning the ropes but is eager to please and be your new best friend!
DO THEY ALL LIVE AT NOSARA BLUE?
Yes, all of the dogs live at Nosara Blue full-time. They are generally out and about during the day but kept inside during wellness classes and other workshops.
WHY DO YOU HAVE SO MANY DOGS?
We make the safety of our residents and guests a top priority here at Nosara Blue, and our furry team members bring an added level of security to the property. Our dogs act as effective deterrents to criminals, and the unfortunate reality of living in paradise is that petty theft is high at certain times of the year. Our dogs provide a threat of physical harm to criminals; in most cases, the dogs barking alone has been enough to deter criminals from entering the property before any conflict even takes place. We also find that guests enjoy having our dogs around as many people and families are traveling away from their own pets.
WHAT IF I DON’T LIKE DOGS?
As much as we love our guests, our dogs are our family, and they live on the property full-time. Outside of our wellness class hours, we must keep our dogs outside for most of the day.
WHAT IF ONE OF THE DOGS WRECKS MY STUFF?
We apologize if one of our dogs accidentally mistakes something for a toy. It doesn’t happen often; however, we will reimburse you if it does. For security reasons, we also recommend not leaving any items out by the pool, including but not limited to towels, shirts, shorts, shoes, goggles, foamboards, sunglasses, sunscreen, swimsuits, or any personal items.
